October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! October's featured stamp set is called Home for the Holidays and has 7 holiday-themed stamp images:

If you've come here from Katie Hessel's Blog, you're on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

This month we have over 70 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using October's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. Hopping around is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!!

I love this adorable polar bear postage stamp, and I had to make him my centerpiece! I stamped Parker (the polar bear - yes, I named him) in Glacier ink, and stamped and cut his scarf in Cranberry ink to add a fun little touch. I used the Snowhaven paper pack along with some Black cardstock to really make it pop. Then I went crazy with embellishments - Snowhaven Assortment ("all Bundled up"), Snowhaven Compliments ("Brrrr!"), Silver Sequins and Silver Shimmer Trim

So cute! What will you make with Parker the Polar Bear? :)

Remember, October's SOTM is only available until October 31st! You can get this fun stamp set for only $5 with a $5o purchase.

Now "Hop" on over to Justine Hovey's Blog to see her artwork! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas!

Creative Blogger

I was so touched to be nominated as a Creative Blogger by my amazing upline, Brenda Rose. Brenda has the most inspiring blog, and it's her incredible talent and warmth that led me to her team! Make sure to visit her blog - you will learn so much and get many wonderful ideas!

Creative Blogger is a chain of blog hop tours. You will get to meet new bloggers, gather loads of inspiration, and connect with blogs that will expand your creativity.

I have four questions to answer and then I will pass along my nomination:

What am I currently working on?

I am always working on one of my upcoming workshops - right now, it's my November Christmas cards and layouts. I need to stay a month ahead so I have something to show at my current workshops and parties! I'm also creating artwork using October's Stamp of the Month - I want to make sure that if I promote something, I've actually used it myself! And of course, since I just received my Artfully Sent cartridge, I'm making all sorts of fun projects using my Explore. I'll be showcasing all that fun Artfully Sent artwork throughout October!

What's great about all of this is it means I get plenty of cards made to send to people for birthdays and holidays, and I make sure to incorporate photos from current albums I'm working on so that when I'm done with a workshop, that layout goes straight into an album! Two birds, one stone. No actual harming of birds, though. :)

My drawers full of current projects

How does my work differ from others in its genre?

I think everyone creates differently, but for me, I know that my artwork is very much a patchwork of ideas I've found on the internet, in our Annual Inspirations idea book and in our how-to books. I love gathering ideas, designs and techniques and picking and choosing from among that pile to make my own creation. That's actually why I chose TweetScraps as my name - I feel like a bird picking up bits and pieces from all over to create a nest. Plus it sounded better than Bird Bits. :)

Why do I create what I do?

When I'm in the middle of creating a layout, a card or some other paper creation, my mind goes still, and all my focus is on what's in front of me. I'm not thinking about chores that need to be done, I'm not thinking about whether or not my business is succeeding, and I'm certainly not thinking about's coming next; I am just, for that moment, creating. As someone who's constantly thinking, thinking, thinking, having a way to get away from that is a gift. I've also always loved creating - whether it was drawing or painting when I was a child, writing stories when I was in high school or learning how to tell my own story through scrapbooking when I finished school, I've always been driven to create something new out of pieces of the world around me.

How does my creative process work?

I'll admit that I'm not great at creating from scratch - I need to see artwork that incorporates something I'm trying to work with, whether that's a stamp set, color palette or design. And then I take elements I like and mash them up with each other to create something new. I've always thought I felt a little bit like Andy from Pretty in Pink when she makes her prom dress from her friend's old prom dress and a dress her father got her. Only I hope my creations look better - I never was a fan of that dress. :)

Now, the fun part! I get to nominate an inspiring blogger!

I nominate Shelly Nemitz.

Shelly has a very awesome blog that highlights her unique way of doing workshops - her Pretty Pieces Cafe. I think her idea for setting it up like a restaurant is ingenious, and I know you'll love browsing her menu and seeing all her delectable creations.

Artfully Sent - Out Of The Package!

I finally have our newest cartridge - Artfully Sent - and I've been busy creating with it like a mad woman! There are so many amazing options, I wasn't even sure where to start. But, I figured with my name being TweetScraps, I might as well start with a bird card. :)

I chose the Pop-Up card on page 13 as my starting point. However, I wanted to get a little fancy right off the bat, so instead of cutting out the plain card base shown with the Pop-Up card, I used the Sentiment card icon instead to cut the Kraft card base. I backed the bird with Canary cardstock and the swirl with Glacier cardstock. To add some flair, I used Pink Glitter Paper and White Enamel Stars. The little Canary triangles are actually leftover cuttings from the Triangle Border Punch. The birdcage is just a smaller version of the one you'll see inside the card:

The pop-up portion was really easy to put together - there's an assembly booklet that comes with the cartridge, and once you see where to fold it, you can put any pop-up card together in minutes! I used Whimsy Paper Fundamentals for my base and added some Pink Glitter Gems to my birdcage. And what about the Kraft swirl and small bird? Those are the cutouts from the front of the card!

Want to make this card? Click here for the Design Space link! If you don't have an Explore, you can still click on the images and look at the Edit button to get sizes.

I love the Artfully Sent cartridge, and I bet you will too! Not only does it have 700 images that combine to create 400 projects, but it also comes with 3 awesome stamp sets and a stack of White cardstock to get you started creating!!

Buy the cartridge from me before the end of September, and I'll send you a FREE paper pack of you choice as well!

September Stamp of the Month Cake Box

I thought it would be fun to try embossing the tree image from September's Stamp of the Month onto a 3-D project. After flipping through the Artiste cartridge images, I found a gift container that I think looks really pretty with the embossed tree - a cake box:

I used patterned paper from the Seaside paper pack, along with some Desert Sand cardstock. Both the cake box and rolled flowers come from the Artiste Cartridge

To emboss the tree image, I used white embossing powder and embossed the image onto the top of the cake box while it was flat. Once I was done embossing, I put the top together.

I finished the box by adding some sparkle with Gold Shimmer Trim and a pop of color with Flamingo Dots.

This Stamp of the Month will only be available till the end of September. Get yours for $5 with any $50 purchase!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - #30yearsofhappy Artwork Inspiration

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  Our team is showing off artwork using the #30yearsofhappy stamp set - get ready to be inspired!

If you came here from Lynn's amazing blog, you are on the right path.  This blog hop is a great big circle, so no matter where you start you can make it through all 9 blogs.  Should you get lost along the way, you can always come back here and go to the bottom of the post.  I've got everyone from our team listed.

This adorable stamp set is absolutely perfect for making small cards and tags! Originally, I was going to use Cricut Design Space to alter these tags and make them into bookmarks, larger cards, etc., but then I realized that was too much work! These tags are just perfect as they are, only needing a little bit of stamping and bling to finish them.

To create these tags, I cut them using the Art Philosophy cartridge, Kraft cardstock and Whimsy Paper Fundamentals. Some White Enamel Stars, Clear Sparkles and Slate Striped Ribbon give them that little something extra to make them all stand out.

I thought it would be fun to put them in a box so I can easily grab one when I have a gift to give. This box was cut using the Artiste Cartridge and Basics Paper Fundamentals.

Want to make your own tags using this wonderful stamp set? Simply purchase $30 in full retail stamp sets during September and it's yours free! Click here to start shopping!!

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Mary's lovely blog!  You will love what she created!!

Should you get lost along the way, here are the blogs in the hop.  I invite you to follow each one so that you can keep up with what they are doing in their crafting lives!!

September Stamp of the Month Layout - Family Reunion

September's Stamp of the Month - Family is Forever - is perfect for preserving and cherishing moments with family. I had one last layout in my family history album I needed to make - our yearly family reunions. And I knew this stamp set would help make it complete.

I thought the beautiful tree would make such a nice touch on a page in a family history album, and the lovely colors and textures of the Brushed paper pack made a nice base for my pictures. To add a little flair and color, I used the Brushed Complements - lovely vellum stickers - and some Aqua Dots. There are a lot of photos I wanted to show, so when it's in the album, I'll be adding some Flip Flaps so I can get all the wonderful photos in there.

If you have family memories you'd like to preserve, this stamp set would be a wonderful way to do so. Throughout September only, you can get the Stamp of the Month set for $5 with any $50 purchase. But remember, it's only available during September, so make sure to get yours today!
