November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! November's featured stamp set is called It's the Little Things and has 15 lovely (and little) stamp images:

If you've come here from Michele Rowley's Blog, you're on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using November's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. Hopping around is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!!

I had way too much fun making this card! I used Pattern 22 from Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 to help me get started, and then I went crazy stamping and cutting all those flowers!

I used Glacier Ink, Crystal Blue Ink and Lagoon Ink for a cool tone-on-tone look, along with paper from the Seaside collection and Kraft cardstock. My finishing touch was the Brown and Tan Sparkles.

Remember, November's SOTM is only available until November 30th! You can get this fun stamp set for only $5 with a $5o purchase.

Now "Hop" on over to Terry Ann Diack's Blog to see her artwork! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas!

Artfully Sent - Pocket Cards and Envelopes

Although I'll be posting a lot more Artfully Sent artwork, this is my last one for October exploring all the different cards you can make. Today I'm taking on pocket cards!

The pocket card option is great for pocket scrapbooking - it makes it really easy to create beautiful cards to decorate your Picture My Life albums. This 4x6" card is from page 14 of the Artfully Sent cartridge - I used Kraft cardstock for the base and backed it with paper from the Seaside paper pack. The "Always" and butterflies are from the Icon images on the same page.

Pocket cards aren't just for pocket scrapbooking! You can use them as quick and easy card fronts like this one - I cut this 3x4" pocket card from page 14, again using Kraft cardstock and Seaside paper. Bling for both cards include Gold Sequins, Flamingo Dots and Gold Shimmer Trim.

And what's a card without an envelope? This cartridge has 13 different envelopes with coordinating liners so you can make your cards beautiful inside and out. This envelope and liner come from page 48.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Sketch Challenge

I'm taking on the Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge for October - when I saw the sketch, the first thing that came to mind were those composition notebooks I had in high school, so I decided it was time for some notebook doodling!

The Chalk It Up collection was perfect for this school-themed card. The adorable stamped notebook image and doodles come from the Chalk It Up Workshop on the Go stamp set, and the ruler and notebook shape are from the Artbooking cartridge. I added some bling with the Teal Glitter Paper and the retired Base and Bling teal gems.

So much fun! It reminded me of all those notebooks in which I wrote notes for friends, doodles, stories and drawings while I was in high school. :)

Artfully Sent Swing Card - Whooo Misses You?

I've been making my way through all the nifty cards you can make with the Artfully Sent cartridge, and this week I'm sharing my adventures with swing cards (which are part of the "Scene" buttons).

This adorable little owl card is from page 11 of the booklet. The owl's eyes are backed with Canary cardstock and his cute heart is Ruby cardstock. I added a layer of Whimsy Paper Fundamentals for some texture (and no, I didn't hand-cut around the owl; I just cut a second card base and only used that one portion).

The card base is Kraft and the "Missing You" liner is White Daisy backed with Crystal Blue, Lagoon and Ruby cardstock. I also used a scallop punch on the edges.

I always think I'm going to keep it simple, but then I start playing around with all the extra buttons, and end up adding a lot more! I cut out the leaves and branches from the Sentiment card in Canary and used them to decorate the front and inside. I also pop-dotted the little Kraft heart from the owl's belly on the inside to add a fun surprise. Red Enamel Hearts were my finishing touches, along with the stamped "I love you!" in Crystal Blue. This came from the sentiment stamp set that comes with the collection.

October Stamp of the Month - Spin Card

I thought I'd have a some fun with the October Stamp of the Month and make a Circle Spin Card. These cards add a little interactive element and give you a cute way to decorate the inside of the card:

The Snowhaven collection reminds me of a warm winter sweater - I love using it on projects! I added some Red Shimmer Trim, Silver Sequins and Silver Baker's Twine to make the card shine. I used the adorable "Do Not Open..." tag on the spin circle part of the card (along with a little paper piecing using Ruby and Glacier ink).

Here's the inside of the card; I was able to stamp and cut my favorite images - the candy! A few pieces of Snowhaven paper and Red Shimmer Trim frames the images nicely.

See how much fun you can have with October's Stamp of the Month.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Artfully Sent Holidays

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!  Our team is showing off Thanksgiving and Christmas artwork using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge - this should help get your creative juices flowing for the holidays!

If you came here from Kim's lovely blog, you are on the right path.  This blog hop is a great big circle, so no matter where you start you can make it through all 6 blogs.  Should you get lost along the way, you can always come back here and go to the bottom of the post.  I've got everyone from our team listed.

This adorable Pop-up card is from page 50 of the Artfully Sent booklet. I covered my Kraft card base in Gold Glitter Paper (how sparkly and cool is that?), and I used Yuletide Carol paper for my presents. "Be Merry" is actually a Sentiment card from the same page - I just used the cut-out (and saved the card for another time. :)

The little owl is from the same "Be Merry" Sentiment card, and I used the Pocket card for my showpiece. Some Red Glitter Gems and the glitter cut-out from the inside bow complete the card.

The Artfully Sent collection is amazing - 700 images, 400 projects, plus a font and envelopes with liners! Not to mention 3 awesome stamp sets and a 24-pack of White Daisy Cardstock. Click here to get yours!

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Shelly's fantastic blog!  You will love her unique style!!

Should you get lost along the way, here are the blogs in the hop.  I invite you to follow each one so that you can keep up with what they are doing in their crafting lives!!

Artfully Sent - Exploring Sleeve Cards

The Artfully Sent sleeve cards are perfect for sliding in photos, as well as providing a cool background for any card. They can also be sized down to make awesome gift card holders. Using the sleeve cards on page 13, I made two intricate cards:

I love the background design on this 5 x 7 sleeve card! All I had to do was add a Juniper card liner, and it really made the pattern pop. I added some Canary cardstock and a touch of dimension with the Juniper Paper Fundamentals. The Pixie pink shape coordinates with the stamp set that came with the Artfully Sent collection. For some sparkle I added Pink Shimmer Trim, Pink Glitter Gems and Gold Sequins.

To turn a sleeve card into a gift card holder, simply size the card to 3.75" - this will give you enough wiggle room to add a tag if you'd like, or just make it easy to slide the gift card in and out. I used Canary for my tag and those cute Pixie triangles are leftovers from the Triangle Border Punch! Silver Sequins, Clear Sparkles and Slate Ribbon finish it off. Again, the sentiment comes from the Artfully Sent collection.

The Artfully Sent collection is amazing! Cards, gifts (and even layouts!) are a breeze with this cartridge. Want one of your own?

And remember, you're eligible for the October Stamp of the Month for $5 and a FREE spool of ribbon!!

October Stamp of the Month - Artiste Gift Container

I'm getting ready for the holidays - creating Christmas cards, putting together gift containers and making sure I have gift card holders. The October Stamp of the Month - Home for the Holidays - is making this really easy. I've already got a cute gift container just waiting to be filled with something fun:

The bag is from the Artiste cartridge (pg. 79) and was decorated with Snowhaven paper and Complements. I added some Clear Sparkles, Neutral Metallic Baker's Twine and Silver Shimmer Trim to bling it up. I used Whisper, Glacier and Cranberry ink with the stamp set.

Now I just have to find someone who's actually been nice instead of naughty...

As always, the Stamp of the Month is $5 with a $50 purchase and is only available in October.

Park District Christmas Card Workshop

I have several upcoming workshops I'll be teaching at the South Elgin and St. Charles, Illinois Park Districts. All of them will be Christmas cards specially made for the park districts, which means I won't be teaching these cards at my regular workshops! Each card has a fun technique that's great for any experience level:

Yuletide Carol paper, Gold Shimmer Trim and Gold Sequins - plus we'll be learning two-step stamping with the Merry Merry stamp set!

Snowhaven paper, Silver Shimmer Trim and White Enamel Stars - this card demonstrates making borders with the Flakey Friends stamp set and has a little coloring with our Shinhan Touch markers.

This card has the same supplies as the first one, but we'll be playing with Cricut shapes and backgrounds! We'll be stamping the Make It Merry stamp set on that fun Cricut shape.

Those of you in the area can check this workshop out. If you know someone who's never done crafting before, have them come too because this is the perfect start for any new crafter! And if you bring a friend, you'll receive a My Complements of your choice as my thank you!

Because it's through the park district, signing up must be done through them. Click here for the South Elgin brochure. My class is listed on page 52, and the sign up form is on page 61 - you can register via fax, mail or in person. Click here for the St. Charles brochure. My class is listed on pg. 55 (or you can search under Arts & Crafts). Registration is done online.

I'd love to see you there!

October Freebies and Discounts Plus an Artfully Sent Card

I have a bit of an addiction to ribbon, which is why I am especially excited about October's special - with every $50 purchase, you get FREE ribbon (that's a $6.95 value!)

It's just in time, too, because I ran out of my Outdoor Denim chevron ribbon after making this card!

This lovely 5 x 7 sentiment card came straight from Artfully Sent (pg. 36)! To show off that gorgeous ribbon, I used Goldrush, Lagoon and Thistle cardstock, and embellished with Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape and White Enamel Stars. Tying a bow around the card gives it such a dramatic look!

To complete the card, I lined the inside with White Daisy cardstock and used the Goldrush camera cut-out from the front of the card to spice up the inside!

On top of getting free ribbon, you can also get the Stamp of the Month - Home for the Holidays - for $5! Keep a look out - I'll be posting more artwork with the Stamp of the Month throughout October to give you plenty of inspiration!
