This week's alcohol marker technique is similar to my first post on two-color blending; however, when coloring with reds, there's actually a key difference. Normally you would start with the lightest color then add darker layers. But when you color with reds, it's best to start with the darkest color and work your way inward with the lighter colors.
The adorable bird from the Fabulous You stamp set is a perfect example - I started with Carmine on the outer edges, then blended with the lighter Tender Pink towards the center. The flowers were done the typical way - coloring everything in the light Barely Beige, then highlighting with the slightly darker Light Orange.
I used the retired Pear & Partridge page pack to make this card, but you can recreate it by using the Pear & Partridge Picture My Life cards (even easier - no cutting! :) Kraft cardstock helped ground everything, and Gold Sequins added some shine.
