Sangria Supplemental Art - Thank You Cards (Directions Included)

Easy peasy thank you cards made with leftovers from the Sangria card workshop and card basesIf you didn't get the workshop, then all you need is Sangria paper, Poppy Twine and Pink Enamel Gems.

Here are the directions - you can be exact with my measurements or keep it loose with the general guidelines I provide in parentheses.

*Design from Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2, Pattern 28*

Cutting

Bold pattern (papers on far right and left sides): 4 x 1.75" (or cut so there's about a quarter of an inch around the papers and card base)

Subtle pattern (paper in the center): 4 x 1.5" (or cut so there's about a quarter of an inch around the papers and card base)

Color cardstock square: 2.5 x 2.5" (or cut so it's about a quarter of an inch larger than your off-white square)

Colonial White (off-white) square: 2.25 x 2.25" (or cut so it fits your stamped sentiment)

Champagne cardstock strip: 0.75 x 5.5" (thin strip)

Put It Together

Stamping: Use Cocoa (dark brown) ink to stamp your sentiment - I used Victorian Gratitude.

Optional: Use a corner rounder to round two corners of your color and Colonial White cardstock squares.

Embellishments: Tie a bow with the Poppy Twine and add Pink Enamel Gems as desired.

Paper Fundamentals - Your Papercrafting Secret Weapon

The Top 5 Reasons why Paper Fundamentals are your papercrafting secret weapon:

1 - You can create any color combination you want. Sometimes a paper collection has the colors you need, sometimes it doesn't. But with Paper Fundamentals, you have all colors at your fingertips.

2 - You can make any theme you want. Don't have paper with the theme you want? Then make your own! Paper Fundamental patterns are general enough to fit with any theme, and the magic of Cricut, die-cuts and punches means there's no limit to what you can create.

3 - You get texture and dimension without any work. Paper Fundamentals have embossed designs on one side that create beautiful texture, and the coordinating embellishments add automatic dimension (bows, tags and wood shapes) and shine (glitter stickers).

4 - No stamping necessary! With 4 sheets of stickers and 4 different embellishments, you can create any sentiment you want with plenty of images to go with them.

5 - Paper Fundamentals complement all Close To My Heart paper collections. This means that if you're running low on patterned paper or you want to add more designs to a collection, you have all the extras you need.

Take advantage of November's special today so you can build up your papercrafting arsenal:

Each Simply Fundamentals bundle is $71.80, and it comes with everything you see pictured above:

November Stamp of the Month - Cheers, 2016! Layout

You can make stamped images really pop by choosing a design with a lot of white space:

Inspiration: The layout on page 71 of Annual Inspirations. I only re-created the left side, though, because I want this to be the first page of next year's album.

Technique: I kept the papers simple so the stamped sentiments would really stand out. The patterned paper is from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals, and the only bling I added was Gold Shimmer Trim. Everything else is focused on the bright colors of the stamped images (Pomegranate, Fern, and Poppy with Cocoa as the neutral).

Fun Fact: I never make New Year's resolutions - I believe that if you want to change something, the best time to start is now. :)

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Enchantment Paper Fundamentals

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using November's Enchantment Paper Fundamentals special!

If you came here from Kim Hill's amazing blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine (Winter 2014) - they showed how to make fun bright colors pop even more with a neutral background.

Technique: Paper Fundamentals collections all coordinate, so I went crazy with each color strip, adding matching stickers, assortments and die-cut shapes. Plus I made sure that both sides of each paper was showing - the embossed side and the color/white design side. I also used the Artistry font and a border from Artbooking.

Fun Fact: The "Sweet" sentiment is actually leftover from the sticker sheet - I had already used the stickers on another project, but the outline and white background looked really cool, so I cut it out and used it here!

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Mary's lovely blog and see her beautiful artwork!

Sangria Supplemental Art - Gratitude Jar (Directions Included)

Make a beautiful gratitude jar for reflecting on all that you're grateful for, or to share with family at Thanksgiving. This project uses leftovers from the Sangria card workshop plus a My Creations Kraft Container.

If you didn't get the workshop, then all you need is Sangria paper, Poppy Twine and Pink Enamel Gems.

Here are the directions - you can be exact with my measurements or keep it loose with the general guidelines I provide in parentheses.

Champagne Cardstock - 2" x 12" (large strip)

Eggplant Cardstock - 0.75" x 12" (small strip). Optional - Create scalloped edge with scallop border punch.

Swirls and leaves pattern - 1" x 12" and 0.5" x 12" (medium and small strips) and 2 3/4" circle (don't have a punch or die cutting system? Then use the lid to trace the circle and cut. The circle will be slightly larger than the inside of the lid, but you can tuck it into the lid).

Orange leaves pattern - 2 3/4" circle (or use the lid to trace and cut).

Stamping - Stamp "So Thankful" sentiment from Harvest Wreath stamp set in Eggplant ink on 3 1/2" x 3/4" Colonial White cardstock and dovetail both ends. (or use any stamp set you'd like with a dark purple or brown ink on off-white cardstock. Trim to fit.)

Put it Together - Using wet glue, adhere each layer around the jar, starting with the swirls and leaves pattern at the top. The jar has a seam, which you can use to line up the paper seams. Pop dot the orange leaves circle and sentiment.

Embellishments - Wrap Poppy Twine around the lid multiple times and tie with a bow. Add Pink Enamel Gems as desired.

Write down what you are thankful for and add it to the jar throughout the month (or as a family at Thanksgiving).

November Stamp of the Month - Cheers, 2016! Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using November's Stamp of the Month - Cheers, 2016!

If you came here from Shelly's amazing blog, you're on the right path!  If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: The congratulations card on page 56 of Annual Inspirations. I love how they created a story on the card using sentiments and images. I wanted to recreate that look with a New Year's card and colors from the Sangria collection.

Technique: Stamping sentiments and images line by line and alternating colors with each stamp. It sort of feels like creating a page from a children's book.

Fun Fact: My husband and I never do anything for New Year's because we don't like the crowds. Our big event will be falling asleep on the couch in front of the TV well before midnight. At least now I'll have a card to commemorate the event. :)

November's SOTM is only available until November 30th. As always, you can get this stamp set for only $5 with a $5o purchase at my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Kim's lovely blog and see her beautiful artwork!
