Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Share the Love Layout

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using February's special stamp set - Share the Love!

If you came here from Shelly's lovely blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: The layout on page 20 of the Seasonal Expressions 1 mini-catalog. I loved how they used watercolor splashes to create a fun focus for the stamped images.

Technique: Watercoloring! I brushed reds, blues and yellows onto the layout base (watercolor paper). For the stamped images, I used Archival Black ink, wet the entire image, dotted color on the image, and then used a flat brush to sweep water across image - it gives it a sort of blotchy/antique look.

Fun Fact: Not only is this stamp set completely lovable, but $7 of every set purchased gets donated to Operation Smile™, an amazing organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children all over the world! I used this adorable photo of a friend's little girl to remind me how important this cause is. You can learn more here.
Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Cathy's lovely blog and see her beautiful artwork!

You stamped and water colored and made something so fun but I can't take my eyes off that baby! That's the sign of a great layout when the focus is on the pictures.

Oh, I love that photo with these elements! You have done a great job of drawing from the colors in the photo to create the detail. Love your antique watercolor splashes, too!

This is a great page. Love how you used watercolor swatches to ground or anchor the stamped images... And how you added sparkle in each of the watercolors! Everything complements everything else!

LOVING that watercolor technique. Nice work making use of all the large images in the set too. Your post format is excellent, by the way. What a "to the point" way of delivering the facts! (just might be giving that a try) :)

I love that you took a layout from Expressions and put your own twist on it. I didn't recognize it and had to pull out my mini-catalog and check it out. It's so much fun that this idea inspired you, yet your created something that is totally you!!!! Such a fun page!
