More Colored Ornate Blossoms - Florence Card

In my previous post on the Florence collection and Ornate Blossoms stamp set, I mentioned how I had stamped and colored a myriad of images from the stamp set so I could have them ready for any project. And because of this, in less than 5 minutes, I created a gorgeous and simple card:

All it took were some scraps, a few sequins, and tucking in those stamped and pre-colored images to create this card. Voila!

Florence Layout: Colored Ornate Blossoms

One of my favorite new paper collections is Florence - the gorgeous colors and patterns look beautiful with travel photos. The coordinating Ornate Blossoms stamp set is even more fun - all the details make it awesome to color!

Inspiration: This was the very first layout design from the Scrapbook and Cards Today online class I'm taking. I chose the "Detailed" layout.

Technique: During a crop, I stamped a bunch of the Ornate Blossoms stamp images in Memento Brown ink and spent all day coloring them with our Shinhan Touch markers. I used the Ornate Blossoms thin cuts to cut them all out, and now I have a stash of colored images I can use whenever I need them!

Fun Tip: To make the colored images stand out, I embossed blossoms in gold behind each of them so they really shine.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Art Philosophy Layout

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations made using one of the three cartridges that will be retiring after July - Art Philosophy, Artiste and Artfully Sent.

If you came here from Kim's incredible blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: I'm taking this awesome Scrapbook & Cards Today online class, and this was our second week layout. The original layout design was actually oriented so the photos were vertical, but I wanted to use horizontal photos, so I flipped the layout.

Cricut Cartridge: I used Art Philosophy to create all those fun shapes. They're actually ornaments, but I just thought they were a neat shape and were simple enough to create rows and layers using different paper patterns. Besides the cartridge, the Zoe paper pack, Aqua Dots and Flamingo Dots will also be retiring. Fortunately, the White/Gold Glitter Paper is staying. :)

Technique: I cut the Art Philosophy shape in different sizes on different pieces of patterned paper (click here for the Design Space file).  I created rows of various shape layers (some just have one, while others have 2 or 3 stacked on top of each other). Once everything was glued down, I used my sewing machine to create stitching through the center of each shape.

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Kristine's wonderful blog and see her beautiful artwork!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - The Long Way Home

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using June's Stamp of the Month - The Long Way Home!

If you came here from Kim Hill's fun and lovely blog, you're on the right path!  If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: This layout from Pinterest.

Technique: I didn't use the chevron shapes from the original layout because I wanted the shapes of the stamp set to stand out. Instead, I just focused on the general placement of the papers and photos.

Fun Tip: This stamp set has a lot of traveling images, but none of boats, which is how we were traveling! But that's okay - there are so many other images and sentiments I was able to make it work. So make sure to look at every image on a stamp set - if you think outside the theme, you can find what you need.

June's SOTM is only available until June 30th. As always, you can get this stamp set for only $5 with a $50 purchase at my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Kim Sparks' incredible blog and see her fantastic artwork!
