Diagonal Die-Cuts Layout

I have been taking some amazing online classes, and with that have come cool projects and lessons learned along the way, which I thought would be fun to share.

Online Class: Jen Schow's Die Cut Diversity class. It's all about different ways to use your die-cuts.

Technique: This layout was inspired by the "Diagonal Design" lesson. The big take-away for me was making sure to leave the same amount of space between die-cuts, but also layering some of them so it looks cohesive.

Lessons Learned:
  • I needed to use more die-cuts! While I like how this looks, I think it would work better with more layers.
  • I combined the Whimsy and Adventure Fundamentals to give the background a soft look so the bold center pops, but I think the base is too light and looks washed out. But, the center does stand out, so that worked.
  • I combined die-cuts from different collections, and I really like how it looks. I'm learning to let go and do things I wouldn't normally. And you know what? It's fun! :)

Look at you combining paper packs like a pro!!! Next thing we know, we'll be stash diving for your workshops!

Keep up the great learning! I can't wait to see it all in person.
