Adorable Lil' Pumpkin Layout - Jeepers Creepers

I put this layout together last minute because I just had to get these adorable photos on a page! And what better way to wish you a Happy Halloween than with all this cuteness? :)

Inspiration: A sketch from Creating With Sketches Vol. 3.

Technique: The sketch actually had two horizontal photos, so I fiddled with the cluster of photos and page elements until it came together. So I suppose this falls under the technique of "playing around till it works." :)

Product Fun: The papers are from Jeepers Creepers (including that cute caterpillar journaling card) and the embellishments are Jeepers Creepers Complements and gray bubbles. I also ink edged the papers in black ink and did some sewing with silver thread.

Jeepers Creepers Halloween Layout

The little monster stickers from the Jeepers Creepers collection are super cute and look adorable next to the sweet "little monsters" in this Halloween layout:

Inspiration: Week four of the Scrapbook & Cards Today Single 2 Double online class. (Such a fun way to get inspiration for layouts!)

Technique: I lined up images from the Jeepers Creepers Compliments in an off-set line, using the label stickers as a base and pop-dotting the monsters and candy over them. I created a fun embellishment cluster using a Cricut-cut spiderweb as my base. And I added black splatter diagonally across each layout to make the layout flow from the upper left to the lower right.

Product Details: The paper is from the Jeepers Creepers paper pack and Memo Fundamentals (I love adding notebook backgrounds!), and the embellishments are the Jeepers Creepers Compliments and Assortment, plus a Cricut-cut image from Artistry. The spray is Ranger Black Marble Dylusions.

Adventure Fundamentals Inspiration - Flower Market Card

One more piece of inspiration using the Adventure Fundamentals collection - this time, I also added images from the new Flower Market cartridge.

Inspiration: Nothing in particular - I just chose the first Flower Market image that caught my eye and went with it!

Technique: To make those lovely flowers pop, I used a white background and neutral colors for the container. I also wanted to make sure I carried some of the flower colors across the card, so I used the new Willow green for the stamped sentiment and the new Lemon yellow across the bottom.

Adventure Tip: Keep the bold Adventure Fundamentals grounded with neutral colors from the Memo and Rustic Home Fundamentals!

Jeepers Creepers Halloween Card

The new Jeepers Creepers collection is so adorable and it makes for some really awesome Halloween cards!

Inspiration: This sketch from Scrapbook & Cards Today Fall issue.

Technique: Fussy cutting those adorable little monsters! I also used the cut away cards that come with the paper pack for the night-sky background and the "Beware" sentiment.

Product Details: Besides the Jeepers Creepers paper pack, I also used the Jeepers Creepers Assortment (how cute are those little eyes?) and the Black Shimmer Ribbon.

Adventure Fundamentals Inspiration - Complements Layout

Welcome to more fun Adventure Fundamentals inspiration! Today I'm showcasing a layout created using the awesome coordinating Complements.

Inspiration: Jen Schow's Die Cut Diversity class. This lesson was all about making a statement piece with your die cuts/stickers. I used embellishments from the Good Life Complements pack, which coordinates with the Adventure Fundamentals

Important lessons:
  • Keep the page simple so the statement piece is the main design element.
  • Let the die-cuts/stickers tell the story (I used pieces that were all about today and what's happening now).
  • Placing the statement piece to one side of the photo draws attention to the photo.

Adventure Tips: Adventure is such a bright collection, so to keep it grounded, use either the Memo or Rustic Home Fundamentals packs. The new Tabbed Journaling Cards also work really well with this collection, providing not only a great space to write, but also a place for colorful embellishments.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Flower Market Layout

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations made using the new Flower Market cartridge!

If you came here from Marg's incredible blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: Jen Schow's Die Cut Diversity class - an awesome class on different ways to use die cuts.

Technique: I used various flower images from the Flower Market cartridge to create a diagonal pattern on the page. I cut the flowers at different sizes, but I made sure each flower type was the same color so it was easy to keep track of what I needed to cut.

Make It Pop: To make the flowers stand out, I used the neutral papers from the Uptown Fundamentals - black and white background plus some gold foil accents around the photo area.

You can get the Flower Market cartridge either as a physical cartridge or as a digital collection on my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Cathy's wonderful blog and see her beautiful artwork!

Adventure Fundamentals Inspiration - Balloon Card

During October, I'll be posting artwork created with the new Adventure Fundamentals. I love creating with this bright and bold color palette, and I hope you get inspired to create with it as well!

Inspiration: Page 15 of the Annual Inspirations. The original card is made using the soft colors of Whimsy, and I wanted to spice it up with the bold colors of Adventure.

Technique: I fussy cut the balloons from the Happy for You stamp set and added some sparkle with the Shimmer Brush.

Adventure Tid Bits: The Adventure Fundamentals not only have bright cheerful colors, but they also have 7 of our new color additions! I just love how vibrant these colors are - they're perfect for any celebration.
