Oh Deer! Layout - Scraps and Altering Die-Cuts

I don't know about you, but I always have a lot of scraps that I'm not sure what to do with, and die-cuts that don't always match what I'm trying to do. Fortunately, there are some great tips you can try to get the most out of your scraps and die-cuts!

Scrap Tip: You can hide your scraps behind photos! All the paper you see in this layout are partial pieces (or even larger pieces with parts cut out from random areas). I just tucked everything behind the large photo and rearranged the pieces so they look much larger than they actually are. And those smaller pieces make great banners!

Die-Cut Tip: If you have die-cut shapes that you like, but the color or sentiment doesn't match, don't worry! You can alter them. I colored the gray chipboard banner at the top with some white acrylic paint followed by dabbing on ink. The stars are texture paste mixed with re-inker, and the bow was dipped in Versa Mark and covered with gold embossing powder.

I learned these great tips from the amazing Jen Schow - her 6x6 Paper Pad Love video series and Die-Cut Diversity class had so much awesome info!
