Beautiful Awards - Why I Love Being a Consultant!

I'll admit it - I love winning awards, especially when I've worked hard and really put my heart into what I'm doing. Last year I really revved up my Close To My Heart business, and it was wonderful to see that it worked.

For 2015, I had the highest individual sales, team sales and recruiting for our team! I was so excited and so proud. Even better, though, were the sweet gifts that my incredible upline (the amazing Brenda Rose) made for me as a congratulations.

This lovely layout has so much heart and love put into it - I cannot wait to add a team photo and put it in my 2015 scrapbook album! The details are stunning, too - Brenda used Charlotte paper and Complements, and Black Fundamentals Assortment and Stickers.

Brenda also created this beautiful mini-album to help me showcase what a week in my life looks like. She used Zoe paper, Zoe Complements and Glacier Fundamental Assortment in a Mini-Mix Album.

Thank you to my fantastic customer friends who come to my monthly workshops and host parties, and to my wonderful team who I love getting to know and see grow!

Charlotte Supplemental Art - Bookmarks

Bookmarks are awesome gifts for book-lovers (I know I love them!), and these are made with leftovers from the Charlotte workshop. If you didn't get the workshop, then all you need is the Charlotte Workshops Your Way kit.

Here are the directions - you can be exact with my measurements or keep it loose with the general guidelines I provide in parentheses.

Cutting

Bookmark base - Arrows, Black and White Flowers and Multi-Colored Flowers: 2.5 x 6 (or a general bookmark size).

Bookmark center - Champagne design, Grey and White Flowers and Sorbet Dots: 1.5 x 6 (or cut so there's about a half an inch between the center and base).

Light Pink pattern: 0.5 wide and as long as your sentiment (or cut around your sentiment).

Black cardstock: 0.75" circle with 0.25" circle punched in the center (or use a sticker from the Complements and punch a hole through the center).

Put It Together

Stamping: Using Black and Sorbet inks, stamp one large sentiment on the Bookmark center and a smaller sentiment on the Light Pink paper. I used the Springtime Wishes stamp set.

Embellishments: Use a mixture of pop-dotted Complements and Treasured Puffies to embellish, and tie Black and Gold Ribbon through the punched hole.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Share the Love Layout

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using February's special stamp set - Share the Love!

If you came here from Shelly's lovely blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: The layout on page 20 of the Seasonal Expressions 1 mini-catalog. I loved how they used watercolor splashes to create a fun focus for the stamped images.

Technique: Watercoloring! I brushed reds, blues and yellows onto the layout base (watercolor paper). For the stamped images, I used Archival Black ink, wet the entire image, dotted color on the image, and then used a flat brush to sweep water across image - it gives it a sort of blotchy/antique look.

Fun Fact: Not only is this stamp set completely lovable, but $7 of every set purchased gets donated to Operation Smile™, an amazing organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children all over the world! I used this adorable photo of a friend's little girl to remind me how important this cause is. You can learn more here.
Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Cathy's lovely blog and see her beautiful artwork!

Get Organized: Embellishments (Video Tour)

If you're anything like me, you have piles of embellishments that come in different sizes and packaging, which can make them tricky to organize. However, I love taking on that challenge, and I've come up with different ways you can organize your embellishments AND ways to store them in your craft space.

Take a video tour to see how you can tame those embellishment stockpiles:

February Stamp of the Month - Balloon Animals Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using February's Stamp of the Month - Balloon Animals!

If you came here from Kim Hill's amazing blog, you're on the right path!  If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: Myself! I had used this color combo on another project and liked it so much, I wanted to create with it again. There is nothing wrong with CASEing your own art. :)

Technique: I used already-decorated bases (the Buttoned Bag is gray with white chevrons and the treat tube holder is made from patterned Paper Fundamentals) to make putting these treat holders together very quick. I fussy cut everything because I love it (those balloon animals are just so cute to cut out!), and I used the label stamp as a mini card (just cut and fold in half).

Fun Fact: I wanted to fill the treat tube with candy, but I knew it would be gone before I took the photo. :)

February's SOTM is only available until February 29th. As always, you can get this stamp set for only $5 with a $50 purchase at my website.

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Cathy's lovely blog and see her beautiful artwork!
