Charlotte Flower Circle Layout

The Seasonal Expressions 1 mini-catalog is retiring at the end of April and with it are going some of my favorite collections, including Charlotte. I have loved creating with this collection, and I wanted to show you one last piece of artwork made with it.

This lovely stamped flower circle is actually showcased in the Seasonal Expressions mini. I liked it so much, I recreated it using Pattern 8 from Make It From Your Heart Vol. 1 and the Springtime Wishes stamp set

It's actually easier than it looks - I simply traced a circle using a pencil, stamped various images along the circle, and then erased the pencil line when I was done.

Make sure to stop by my website to get your favorite products from the Seasonal Expressions mini before they're gone after April 30th!

First Ever Sweet Tweets Crop Weekend!

This past weekend was the first time my Sweet Tweets team hosted a weekend crop, and it was a blast! Although the cropping space was a bit cozy, it made for a wonderfully intimate setting where everyone got to know each other.

Friendships were formed, page layouts and cards were made in abundance, and lots of prizes were given away!

Plus, Debbie and I taught two free make-and-takes, showing everyone how to use our ShinHan Touch alcohol markers and how to create watercolor effects with our stamp sets. Heather also became the impromptu Circut Explore guru, cutting shapes for everyone to add to their projects.
It was an amazing experience and we're looking forward to planning another crop, and spending time with all you wonderful crafters!

Urban Supplemental Art - Fun and Simple Layout

The Urban papers have such dimension and texture that making a quick and simple layout with them is very easy! This layout was created using leftovers from my Urban workshop. If you didn't get the workshop, then all you need is Urban paper and Complements, Whisper Twine and Blue Enamel Dots.

Here are the directions - you can be exact with my measurements or keep it loose with the general guidelines I provide in parentheses.

Cutting
Yellow Crackle Paper - Layout Base

Splatter Paper - 4" x 12" (or cover about a third of the left side)

Peacock Cardstock - 7" x 10" (or leave about a half inch around your photos) and 0.5" x 12" (or add a thin strip between the Crackle and Splatter papers)

Whisper Cardstock - 3.5" x 3.5" (or leave about a quarter inch around your photo)

Photos - 3" x 3" and two 4" x 6" (or cut to fit the photo mats)

Put It Together
Distressing: Using Saddle ink (or any brown ink), ink edge/sponge the edges of all paper and photos.

Embellishments: Place Complements on layout, adhering some directly to the page and pop-dotting others for dimension. Add Whisper Twine between your large photos, either by using Glue Dots or a mini-stapler, and tie a knot in the center. Add Blue Enamel Dots as desired.

Title: I created my title using Peakcock and Whisper cardstock and Wood Grain Paper. The font is from the Artistry cartridge. I also tied a knot of Whisper Twine around one of my title letters.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Creating with Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridges

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using Close To My Heart's Cricut cartridges in celebration of April's Consultant sign-up special!

If you came here from Kim Hill's lovely blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Cricut Cartridge: Artbooking - when I thought about this photo, the first image that popped into my mind was the beautiful tree overlay. The flowers, camera and title are also all from Artbooking.

Technique: I used watercolors to create a splattered background and backed the tree overlay with different pieces of cardstock and patterned paper.

Fun Fact: This photo is of me and my cousins. Apparently, I got stuck with the short gene. :)
Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Mary's amazing blog and see her beautiful artwork!

April Stamp of the Month - Life in Pictures Rose Blossom Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using April's Stamp of the Month - Life in Pictures!

If you came here from Marg's fun and lovely blog, you're on the right path!  If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: Pinterest - so much inspiration, so little time.

Technique: Lots and lots of fussy cutting. I know it's easier to just stamp directly on the cardstock, or use my Explore, but I actually really enjoy it. And, I made a video that shows a few tricks to make it faster and easier. You're welcome. :)

Fun Fact: For whatever reason, while my parents were at this particular spot in France, they took a lot of pictures of people in their group taking photos. I have no idea why. But talk about the perfect photos for this stamp set!

April's SOTM is only available until April 30th. As always, you can get this stamp set for only $5 with a $50 purchase at my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Margot's incredible blog and see her fantastic artwork!
