Swan Lake Blessed Layout

For my final Swan Lake inspiration of the month, I've create a sweet layout using only Swan Lake paper and compliments:

Inspiration: One of the fun layouts from Jen Schow's Die Cut Diversity class.

Technique: Most of the patterned paper on this layout is actually pocket cards from the cut-away paper in the Swan Lake paper pack. Sometimes the cards have sayings on them I won't use, but the patterns are perfect for my project, so I just tuck them behind photos so all you see are the patterns.

Fun Fact: This layout was the reason I wanted to create something with a pile of pumpkins and ended up making this card. :)

Swan Lake Woodland Critters Card

Swan Lake is my paper collection of the month, which means providing all of you with ideas for creating with it! Here I've created a fun and adorable card:

Inspiration: I'll be honest - I have been creating so much these past few months, I can't remember what inspired this design! :)

Tips: Use your scraps! Many of the pieces on this card are just leftovers, and they add a nice punch of color. Also, pocket cards can be used for more than just scrapbooking - that red floral paper is actually a pocket card!

Mixing It Up: Along with Swan Lake paper, I added in a touch of shine with vellum and copper foil from the Rustic Home Fundamentals. The basic collections can be used with any paper pack, so don't be afraid to mix it up!

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Create Kindness Cards

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations made using this month's National Stamping Month special - Create Kindness!

If you came here from Kim's incredible blog, you are on the right path. If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

I wanted to show different ways you can create regular sized cards out of the 3 x 3 card bases using different techniques.

Card 1: This one is the most basic - I simply cut strips from the card bases, staggered them on the card, and added a stamped sentiment. Easy (less than) 5 minute card.

Card 2: The stamp sets in this kit are perfect for coloring, and to showcase the lovely colored flowers, I cut the 3 x 3 card bases in half and adhered them to the center of the card, popping the stamped image.

Card 3: The circle sentiments really pop when they're backed with flowers from the Flower Market cartridge. Again, I just cut the card base into strips and layered flowers on top.

You can get your own Create Kindness kit when you take advantage of this month's special on my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Lynn's wonderful blog and see her beautiful artwork!

Swan Lake and Woodland Critters Layout

One of my favorite new paper packs from the Holiday Expressions mini-catalog is Swan Lake - a gorgeous fall-themed collection.

Inspiration: I just loved the simple design of the layout on page 53 of Holiday Expressions - it left plenty of space for embellishments!

Technique:  Clustering! I used a mixture of paper scraps, stamped images from the Woodland Critters stamp set, Swan Lake Complements, Enchantment Complements and Silver Sequins.

Mixing It Up: Not only did I use the Swan Lake paper pack, but I added paper and embellishments from the Enchantment Fundamentals! Swan Lake has colors from the Enchantment palette, so it was easy to match them up.

Rose Blossom Blog Hop - Blessed Beyond Measure Card

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Come follow Close To My Heart consultants from the Rose Blossom team as we share our creations using September's Stamp of the Month - Blessed Beyond Measure!

If you came here from Kim's beautiful blog, you're on the right path!  If you get lost along the way, come back here and go to the bottom of the page for the blog hop list.

Inspiration: I was working on a layout that had pictures of a pumpkin farm, and ever since then, I wanted to create a pile of pumpkins. And so I did. :)

Technique: I used Saffron pigment ink to sponge the entire pumpkin stamp and Goldrush pigment ink to sponge just the edges of the stamp, which creates a multi-colored look.

Product Overload: I also cut leaves using Artbooking, gave the background more depth with a wood embossing folder, and added shimmer to the pumpkins and berries with the Shimmer brush.

September's SOTM is only available until September 30th. As always, you can get this stamp set for only $5 with a $50 purchase at my website

Now it's time for you to keep moving on the hop!  Head on over to Kristine's lovely blog and see her fantastic artwork!
